These terms apply to your use of booksbud.com (the "site"), operated by BooksBud, a California corporation ("BooksBud," "we," "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Information only, not advice

Content on the site is general information about our services and about bookkeeping and business finance. It is not tax, legal, investment, or accounting advice for your specific situation, and it doesn't create a client relationship. BooksBud does not provide legal advice or counsel.

Engagements and pricing

A client relationship begins only when you and BooksBud sign a written engagement agreement. That agreement, not the site, sets out the services, fees, billing, and how either party may end the engagement. Pricing is provided after a consultation, in a written proposal, and confirmed in your engagement agreement. Plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract.

The site does not sell subscriptions or take payments for bookkeeping, advisory, or payroll services.

Tax services

Income tax preparation, sales tax, and business formation services are provided by SA Loupe Consulting LLC, a separate company, under its own engagement terms. BooksBud coordinates with SA Loupe Consulting at your request but does not itself prepare tax returns.

Classes and digital products

Classes and digital products are sold through Payhip, a third-party platform. Payhip's terms govern your purchase and payment, and any refund terms are stated on the product listing.

Cost estimates

In-house hiring cost figures on the site are estimates based on the published salary data cited with them. They are illustrations, not a promise of any particular savings. Your results depend on your business.

Links to other sites

The site links to sites we don't control, including zcal, Payhip, and SA Loupe Consulting. We aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, send spam or malicious code, try to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with the site's operation. Don't submit Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or tax documents through the contact form.

Intellectual property

The site's text, design, and graphics belong to BooksBud or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own use. Please don't copy or republish them without our permission. QuickBooks, Patriot, Gusto, Payhip, and zcal are trademarks of their respective owners; their mention doesn't imply endorsement.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the site, including accuracy, availability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, BooksBud will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. This section doesn't limit any rights you have under an engagement agreement or any liability that can't be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute about the site will be heard in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California, unless an engagement agreement between us says otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date.
